The following is a detailed list of how Creative Steps Dance studio promises to follow along with regulations set by the State of Massachusetts and the CDC.
Please note that this is an ever changing situation and this page will be updated as regulations change.
If you have any questions or concerns with this information please e-mail the studio directly or call our office with your concerns. The well being of our students and their families is our number 1 priority.
The following list of procedures are pulled from the State of Massachusetts website. This is the link to the document pertaining specifically to dance studios and other youth activities.
We have made 2 short videos to condense all of this information into a more family friendly tone :)
Mask Wearing Guidelines:
All dancers and family members that enter our space must be wearing a mask.
A mask must be worn in all common space areas at all times.
The dance instructors will be in a mask while teaching all dance classes.
The students may take off their mask while engaging in physical activity (dance) but they are welcomed to be worn the entire time. The dance spaces are 6 feet apart.
Dance Studio Capacity:
11 dancers and 1 instructor will be allowed in Studio A, 9 Dancers and 1 instructor in Studio B, 5 dancers and 1 instructor in Studio C.
All family members are asked to drop off and return, or wait outside in their cars. ( you may watch a live stream of class from home or your car)
Waiting areas will remain closed except for students to wait before class begins.
Class schedules have offset start and end times to reduce the number of students in the common areas at one time.
All chairs in the waiting area will be removed and students will not be allowed to gather in groups, we will have a staff member to handle this situation and keep students apart while waiting for class to begin.
Please do not arrive early to eliminate any unnecessary waiting around.
Dressing rooms will remain closed, please come dressed and ready.
Student who take multiple classes will wait in their classroom for the next class to begin.
Inside The Dance Rooms:
The dance studio floors have been marked off with tape. Each student will have a 6 foot box to stand inside and do all of their dancing. The next box will be 6 feet apart from that.
No dancers will come within 6 feet of each other while in the dance studio.
Dancers must have shoes on their feet at all times. No bare feet allowed.
If dance shoes are not owned, dancers may wear socks.
There will be no use of shared dance props like scarves, hoops, or ballet barres.
Cleaning and Sanitizing:
All high touch items will be sanitized between every dance class. This includes (but not limited to) door handles, the restroom, stair case railings, and the dance floors themselves.
The restroom will be cleaned and sanitized after every dance class.
To ensure we have sufficient cleaning time, classes may be dismissed 5 minutes early so the rooms can be sanitized before the next class enters.
There will be hand sanitizer stations on the wall at the entrance of each dance room and also in the common areas.
Anti-Bacterial hand soap will be available in the restroom.
All students must wash their hands or use hand sanitizer before entering the dance room.
All staff members will be screened and have temperatures taken at the start of their shift.
Any staff member found ill or with symptoms will be immediately sent home and the dance studio will be sanitized from top to bottom. This will take place before any students enter the facility.
If a staff member is found ill or with symptoms all dance families will be notified immediately.
Students who seem symptomatic will be dismissed immediately. A family member will be contact for immediate pick up. The dance studio will be sanitized from top to bottom and all classmates family members will be contacted and made aware.
We will be live streaming all dance classes live on Zoom.
All students may take their classes virtually if they choose.
Parents may use Zoom to watch their child in dance class instead of watching from inside the studio.
