Outdoor Dance Classes

Open Air and Socially Distant outdoor dance classes held on the front lawn at the Grace Episcopal Church in Newton Corner.  The address is 76 Eldredge Street in Newton. 

 

All dance classes are open to all levels, there is no experience necessary for you to come have a grooving good time with us! 

Parents pull up your lawn chairs, kids bring a towel or a yoga mat and lets dance!  There is also a playground within walking distance so that parents with younger siblings may stay entertained.  Easy and Free on street parking too!

Classes are limited to 10 students per class.

Sessions run 5 for weeks

Spring Session Running from May 17th through June 26th

Summer Session Running from July 6th through August 5th

Tuition can be pro-rated for a later start, join us at anytime!

** Summer session - face masks are optional  The dancers are spread out about 10 feet apart at all times during class**

Classes canceled for inclement weather will be taught on Zoom for that day.  No refunds are given for inclement weather.  We will not turn to zoom unless absolutely necessary so dress for the weather!

Tuition

CLASSES MEET ONCE PER WEEK  --  

Tuition can be pro-rated for a late mid-session start, join us at anytime!

$100. per 5 week session, for (1) 45 minute class per week.

Siblings receive a 20% discount

 

Classes canceled for inclement weather will be taught on Zoom for that day. 

No refunds are given for inclement weather. 

We will not turn to zoom unless absolutely necessary so dress for the weather!

Meet The Teachers!

Miss Sara

Sara Goodman is a dancer and dance educator based in the greater Boston area. Sara has been dancing since she was 7 years old, training at Charlotte Klein Dance Centers in Westborough, MA. Sara went on to get her B.A. in Dance Performance and Education at Muhlenberg College where she taught classes for the Muhlenberg Community Dance Center for 3 years and performed in many student and faculty choreographed shows. Sara is currently pursuing her M.ED in Arts, Community and Education from Lesley University and is a Company Member of the Kinetic Synergy Dance Company in Norwell, MA. Sara aims to give each child a sense of agency in the dance classroom to help them build creativity and show them that dance can be whatever they want it to be!

Miss Michelle S.

Michelle Shirley is the owner and director of Creative Steps Dance Studio.  Michelle grew up dancing in Newton at the Boston Ballet School. After high school she went on to receive her Associates Degree in Dance and Dance Education from Dean College.  After college Michelle traveled to New York City to train and study with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and Broadway Dance Center.  After realizing that teaching dance and enriching the lives of youth were her passion she decided to open Creative Steps Dance Studio.  Michelle still teaches a majority of the classes and her passion for the art of dance and building self esteem in young people shine though in every class she teaches and in the way the studio is run.
